Portable Field EIS Device for Coating Assessment

This project aims to translate the ASTM D8370-22 standard for Field Measurement of Electrochemical Impedance on Coatings and Linings into a portable diagnostic tool for quick, on-site coating evaluation.
The device focuses on:
- In-service QC testing and condition assessment
- Measurement of impedance at 0.1–0.01 Hz — key for coating integrity
- High sensitivity to detect extremely small currents
The vision is to make EIS-based coating health checks accessible and practical for field engineers through a compact, easy-to-use instrument.
